It has been 30 years since Satan’s Pilgrims began their journey in their hometown of Portland, Oregon. With their “Pilgrim Rock” they grew into one of the most influential surf instrumental bands around, and they’re still going strong. They have actually just released a new album, paying tribute to guitarist and founding member Dave “Pilgrim” Busacker who passed away in March 2021. The 14 new tunes on Go Action!! sound as fresh as can be, although all the usual ingredients are of course present: rolling riffs from 3 distinct guitarists, swinging rhythms, catchy melodies and splashing fun. The Pilgrims have again succeeded in writing a number of modern dance party classics that would enrich any film score. Whatever happens, the Pilgrim Party must go on.
