Ten songs in 18 minutes? Recorded, produced and mixed by Erik Nervous? Without hearing one song, I already had a sense that the debut full length of Big Baby (Pittsburgh) would be fast, frenetic and trashy. What I did not anticipate however, is how much this record rocks and how much melody it contains.
This record in three words: Garagepoppunk done well. Need a soundtrack for your skateboarding home video’s? In the mood for some living room couch pogo? Play Big Baby’s Big Fuckin’ Record and play it loud!
What would add even more coolness to Big Baby is if they’d named their band after the excellent Charles Burns graphic novel. And you know what…I’m pretty sure they did.
