Mustard is “a very bored Italian kid” from Rome. Research has shown that feeling bored may not be a bad thing and can actually be a blessing in disguise. It may increase creativity for example, and this certainly seem to apply to Mustard. Late February, he dropped a two song single including a cover of Little Richard’s Slippin’ and Slidin.’ Then, just two weeks later, he released another single with another Mustard original and a cover of The Beatles.
The songs of Mustard are rock’n’roll nuggets in the mold of lo-fi garagepop and -rock. Farsi Del Male is my favorite track yet, but Mustard shows a lot of promise on both singles. Both are available on tape in very limited edition through Face Melter Records. Keep an eye out on this ragazzo annoiato!
