Early 2021, Bäddat För Trubbel frontman Andreas Hjelmér released his third solo album under the moniker Hjelle. I wrote a short post about the album, which contains “15 short and sweet lo-fi tunes that border between pubrock and rock’n’roll with the occasional and very welcome sax-solo.”
I totally missed that Hjelle released an EP later that year (mid-december) called Arbetsförmedlingen Ringde. Backed up by Swedish supergroup Ormarna, Hjelle sounds particularly inspired on the EP. Arbetsförmedlingen Ringde has a total playing length of only 8 minutes. Two of those minutes are filled with the outsider ballad Är Hans Hjärta Hos Henne. The remaining five songs provide steamy and highly energetic pubrock’n’roll. Short but sweet!
Arbetsförmedlingen Ringde is out now on a 12″ at Jared Sin Records.
