Singer / songwriter / producer Ed Cosens, founding member of Reverend and the Makers, has released his debut solo record Fortunes Favor. He calls it the product of a true labor of love, and you can hear that: careful orchestration, balanced instrumentation and beautiful sound. I read a critical review somewhere that the tracks are too similar, but if you listen carefully, you will hear that a lot is happening below the surface. Poetic and atmospheric.
