New album: The Spitters || Fake Brutal

A fast and feral shot of adrenaline

The cover art and album title are remarkable and that raises expectations, which Toulon, France-based garage punk band The Spitters fully lives up to. We’re talking about Fake Brutal, their fifth full-length, a noisy and loud typhoon that blasts out of your speakers for half an hour.

Maxime Richard (guitar, vocals), Dorian Lahais-Cazalé (drums, vocals), Barny (guitar), and Sloog (bass) deliver thirteen fast-paced songs with high-voltage melodies, unrelenting hooks, and raw power, sharpened to a fine point. Relentless riffs, zero lulls, maximum impact.

Fake Brutal—recorded by Fabien Camoin, mixed by Mike Curtis—is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through Howlin Banana Records, Mars Invasion Records, and Tentacles Industries.
