More than two years after Bilk‘s first taster (the Chipped Out EP on Family Spree Recordings), here’s the self-titled debut full-length of the Essex-based trio, out on Scruff Of The Neck. Sol Abrahams (vocals, guitar), Luke Hare (bass) and Harry Gray (drums) mix angsty indie, witty rap and energetic punk with an eagerness that should characterize every first record. You’ll hear eleven banging tunes, mostly with heavy riffs and pounding rhythms yet danceable (the acoustic tracks work out well too), that make you want to experience them live.
