With his debut solo album If You Can’t Find What You’re Looking For Please Ask, UK singer-songwriter George Hennessey follows in the footsteps of Ian Brown, Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller. With nine melodic coming-of-age songs about breaking-up, bouncing back and believing in yourself, the artist breathes new life into 90s Britpop. This record is compelling, melodic and well structured, with quiet/loud dynamics and soundscapes for extra tension, delivered with the right balance between attitude and nonchalance. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the next superstar at work here.
