Day Residue are a new act from Detroit that make quite the splash with their six-song self-titled debut EP. The music is probably best described as indie rock, but Day Residue carves its own niche in that scene. It comes with an interesting mashup of styles, combining hardcorepunk attitude with angular rhythms and groovy riffing. The Day Residue EP goes from pissed off hardcorepunk (Careful, Piss Paradise) to indie rock bliss (Sisyphus) and catchy indiepunk (Faded Limbs). Tape available through Painters Tapes.
