It’s been twelve years since the last Hunx and His Punx LP, and my excitement about their return only grew when I saw the tracklist. Top of the Punks? Bad Boys? Wild Boys? White Lipstick? Little Richard? Shaggy World? That already sounded like classic Hunx/Punx before I even pressed play.
And then the record started.
Walk Out On This World isn’t just good—it’s really good. The band’s most ambitious effort to date, it feels fuller, bolder, and more layered musically, while keeping all the rock ’n’ roll worship and sense of fun intact. I mean, watch the videos, play the singles below—self-explanatory, right?
Seth Bogart (Hunx) has never sounded better, and having Shannon Shaw (of Shannon and the Clams) in the lineup is basically a cheat code. Walk Out On This World turned out to be more than I hoped for. Out now on LP through Get Better Records.
