Entrez Vous is a Carrboro/Chapel Hill-based duo that individually have nothing left to prove, but together they make worthwhile art anyway. Since the late ’90s, Clark Albert Blomquist has played in bands like Kingsbury Manx, Work Clothes, Waumiss, Spider Bags, Cold Cream, and Tegucigalpan. Kelly Reidy, meanwhile, has somehow balanced being a solo singer-songwriter for two decades with hosting the I Got Stuck! podcast, working as an assistant professor, researching theoretical condensed matter physics, lecturing for Atlas Obscura, and guiding Museum Hack tours. Reidy clearly lives in a world with eight or nine days a week.

Together, Blomquist and Reidy form a fine-tuned garage pop unit. Antenna Legs Hear Everything is their second album, self-released last month on cassette. It features 14 tracks, most clocking in under two minutes, yet the record is bursting with ideas. Beneath the offbeat, homespun packaging beats a giant pop heart. The songs are full of catchy and unexpected melodies—delivered with an outsider charm that sets them apart.

Calling this a garage pop album isn’t wrong, but it barely scratches the surface. Across its tight runtime, you’ll hear shades of twee and indie pop, fuzzy rock, psych, sunshine pop, alt-country, and post-punk. It’s diverse, weird, and strangely cohesive. Many songs feel longer than they are—rich with hooks and texture—yet you’ll wish they went on just a little more. Great stuff, really.
