New album: Power Pants || PP7

Prolific, punchy, and playful, Power Pants' creativity is losing none of its steam

The year has barely begun, and Winchester, Virginia’s Power Pants has already gifted us their first album of 2025. This insanely prolific project feels like the brainchild of someone permanently holed up in a basement—guitar in hand, drum machine churning, and songs recorded and uploaded as fast as they’re conceived. If his past output is any indication, it’s a safe bet we’ll see PP8 and maybe even PP9, likely with a handful of singles and EPs in the mix. No pressure though—this isn’t a race!

On PP7, Power Pants sticks to their Gee Tee-inspired formula, continuing to deliver some of the most accessible and instantly lovable tunes in the egg punk scene. Listening to the record is a full-body experience: you’ll find yourself bopping your head, moving your feet, and caught in a tug-of-war between singing along to the punchy lyrics or the ridiculously catchy synth hooks. Tracks like 30 Years and May I Rest showcase the band’s knack for combining hyperactivity with undeniable charm, making multitasking feel like a prerequisite to fully absorb their frenetic energy. Clearly, Power Pants’ creativity is not losing steam yet. PP7 is out now on Punk Valley Records and Knuckles in Stun.
