Like their previous release earlier this year, Porcine (Barnsley, UK) once again affirm their place as a standout indie pop band with the new Something’s Dawning EP. These five tracks showcase the band’s knack for variety, from the infectious, Ducks Ltd-meets-Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever energy of standout track Pepe (check out the video below!) to the charming jangle of Brand New TV, with its effortlessly catchy guitar and vocal melodies. And Bernard, Baby brings an irresistible beach-ready, surf pop vibe that calls back to the best of ’80s underground pop. Tracks like these make you wonder why Porcine isn’t on every indie pop playlist out there—this is the kind of pop music we need more of.
Something’s Dawning is out now. While it’s not on Bandcamp I believe, you’ll likely find it on your favorite streaming service.
