Mythical Motors, the solo project of Matt Addison, continues to impress with both quality and quantity. Seven is Circular follows the Halos Of True North EP and Upside Down World album, all released within the past five months. Addison’s extensive catalog before 2024 is also well worth exploring.

While Addison may remain under the radar to mainstream audiences, he’s cherished as one of the underground’s best-kept secrets. Seven is Circular feels like a greatest hits collection — not only because it contains 20 tracks, but because it showcases Addison’s knack for crafting effortlessly catchy songs, blending rock and power pop with finesse. The album is the ideal entry point to Mythical Motors’ world, where every song brims with infectious GBV-style hooks and verses as memorable as the choruses.
