Uk label Crew Cuts have quickly become a go-to label for me. They release mostly hardcore acts, but also more melodic bands with a hardcore upbringing like Stay Put. It’s part of the appeal of the label. You never know what you are going to get, but it’s always worth checking out. Their newest release is classic hardcore brought to us by The Dweebs – a bandname (and artwork) that actually signaled old school pop punk to me. The Dweebs have either short attention spans or are in a hurry: only two of the ten songs on their Goes Without Saying LP 7″ surpass the one-minute mark. Then again, if you play THIS fast it kinda makes sense that the songs come out THIS short.
Anyhow, The Dweebs manage to find just the right balance between tight, trashy, classic and fresh on Goes Without Saying. Buy the 7″ at Crew Cuts.
