Join Her Circus is album #37 for Mythical Motors (Chattanooga). Okay, that amount may be slightly lower, but to be fair, it’s easy to lose count with a songsmith as prolific as Matt Addison. Let’s say there are a lot of records. That is all due to the person behind Mythical Motors, Matt Addison, who compulsively writes music, and often it sounds like GBV songs by the way of Flying Nun and Sarah Records: Loose and spontaneous, noisy and lo-fi, yet brimming with melodies. If you are into unpolished, and underproduced underground pop music, Mythical Motors have a lot to offer. My favorite thing about the Mythical Motors discography is that each record is guaranteed to have a couple of gems that particularly stand out. Join Her Circus is no exception.
