In spite of their band name, don’t expect things to get overly dramatic with French quartet The Soap Opera. Nor should you expect cliffhangers. What the band does deliver on their first new LP in six years is quality indie pop. The songs on Back On Tracks (out now through Howlin’ Banana) display a wealth of melodies that often find their origin in ‘60s psych pop. Add in a modern sounding production, jangly guitars and a diverse set of songs and you’ll have a pleasant listening experience for sure.
