New album: Gee Tee || Goodnight Neanderthal

Ready for an insanely catchy buzzsaw eggpunk experience coming out of Australia? In a crazy release week – too much cool stuff to write about, the new Gee Tee LP (Goodnight Neanderthal) has got me all excited. Pressing play on this record is like a refreshing splash of cold water in your face, or the best morning coffee you’ve ever had. It will replenish you and put a huge smile on your face. It combines that mutant weird sound of the egg punk genre with the poppiest melodies, and the grooviest guitar and synth riffs. And it has HITS, so many HITS. The opening (title) track is a delightfully blunt in your-face mutant take on the Ramones. (I Hate) Drivin’ In The City is an anthem for any commute in the near future. Grease Rot Chemical provides a short breather and is built on an effective and contagious synth lick. Bad Egg should be at the top of your playlist if you are in a foul mood. And yes, those are only the first four songs on the record. Like I said, HITS! Goodnight Neanderthal has six more. It’s not even 18 minutes long. LP available (I hope!) at Urge Records (Australia) and Goner Records (US).
