New EP: Friends of Cesar Romero || Six Banger

It’s been six or seven weeks that we covered the most recent Friends of Cesar Romero release. That was #30 in the Doomed Babe series, and here’s #31 already. It’s called Six Banger, and it contains six…well, you get the picture. This time, J. Waylon Porcupine sprinkles his poignant powerpop songs with some classic garage rock and ’60s pop influences. It’s an easy and natural match. Six Banger is another fine collection of tunes by FOCR, the kind that will make any car or public transport ride a breeze. My favorite track of the six is Born Under A Jealous Sign. Toxicity usually doesn’t sound this upbeat and catchy. “I was born under a jealous sign // Are you thinking of leaving me behind? Where were you last night?”

Now, who’s willing to bet that this will be the final FOCR release of 2022?
