Some records instantly grab you but dove out quickly. Other records grow slowly on you, and get better which each play. Here is one from that second category: Heaven Is A Long Exhale is the second album of The Building from Manila (Phillipines). The band plays a classic kind of indierock and indiepop with fuzzy guitars, and have an ace in singer Mariah Reodica who takes these songs to another level. My favorite tracks may be the most pop-oriented ones, like Room So Small, Don’t Cry At The Movies, and January 10. But like I said, this one is a grower. Out now on CD on Tokyo-based Call And Response Records.
