Brighton art rock band PROJECTOR—yes, all caps—follow up last year’s Now When We Talk It’s Violence LP with their new album Contempt. They slam together post-punk anxiety, shoegaze haze, alt-rock grit, and warped pop with a confidence and coolness that feels both unhinged and urgent—worth capitalizing.

What makes the twelve new tracks such a compelling listen is its refusal to sit still. One moment you’re dancing in the dark, the next you’re washed over with luminous harmonies. Despite bile and bombast, there are flickers of tenderness buried in the noise, but always the lyrics cut as sharply as the riffs and rhythms.
