Hank’s Dream are a Montreal, Québec-based indie pop band formed by church organist Henry Cobb—along with Frédéric Ferland, Henri Bouchard, and Zachary Lalonde. Running in Circles is their full-length debut, featuring eleven dreamy songs in which jangly guitars, vintage synths, and hazy vocals compete for priority.

Lyrically the album circles themes of youthful disorientation, loss, and the desire for renewal (“I’m always in need of a new distraction”—from the title track), balanced by fleeting moments of reassurance. The opening tune is only 13 seconds long, and there are four other instrumentals, but even those are captivating.
