Marseille quartet Technopolice — with members of wantlist alumns Flathead and La Flemme — make their full-length debut with Chien De La Casse. What makes this record worth the spin is its idiosyncratic blend: mutant punk that nods to Australia, streaks of post-punk mood, and lo-fi garage grit.

At just under twenty minutes, Chien De La Casse is packed with ideas, but never in a messy, “keep them away from the crayons” kind of way. It’s closer to a comic book — flashes of chaos and color, but every panel moves the story forward. Highlights? Nuclear, Human, and Tank — three tracks that prove Technopolice can pen classic power pop and punk choruses while keeping their sound weird, sharp, and totally their own.
