Remember Italian underground rockers Minus Hero? They’re now split between Rome and Amsterdam, but that didn’t stop them from recording a new EP, Ruyi. Somehow, the release has more labels (five) than songs (four)—a co-release by three Italian outfits (Flamingo, Loop Studio, and Dinomite Records) and two Dutch ones (Shield Recordings and White Russian Records).

Minus Hero clearly have either great networking skills or strong songwriting chops—but after hearing the new tracks, it’s probably both.

What to expect? I previously compared the band to Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, and Knapsack, and they cite Hüsker Dü, Dinosaur Jr., Samiam, and Jawbreaker as influences. It all checks out.
