Damn, this one is fun! From the vibrant album cover (courtesy of Ryan Dunn) to the no-holds-barred energy of the music, Indianapolis punks Pat and the Pissers deliver an all-thrills ride with How It’s Done.

At first, opener Overflow makes the album seem like a straightforward hardcore punk record—until about a minute in, when an unexpected pause makes you reconsider. Then comes a breakdown straight out of classic hardcore playbooks. In Binary Code, a ripping guitar solo in the final third suggests an identity crisis—but in the best way. And just when you think you’ve got them figured out, Best Interest throws in a twangy hillbilly guitar and talk-singing outro for good measure.

How It’s Done is packed with these kinds of surprises, making it an absolute blast to spin. Pat and the Pissers are not your average band and they play with a sense of urgency that is admirable. The twelve songs race by in 23 minutes but somehow feel way shorter. It’s the kind of record that demands repeat listens—again and again.
