Californian indie rock outfit Refrigerator has been around for over thirty years, but is still uncompromising and idiosyncratic, averse to trends. Band founders and brothers Dennis (guitar) and Allen Callaci (vocals) have a DIY ethos and good taste running through their veins, Chris Jones (drums), Daniel Brodo (bass) and Mark Givens (guitar) don’t have to make an effort to feel at home there. Their new full-length Get Lost contains fourteen lo-fi songs with guitar duels and dark themes. It still is noisy, but more accessible and subdued – especially on the B-side – than what we heard on their previous LP So Long to Farewell. Give it a few spins and these tracks will find a way under your skin, too.
