I am pretty sure DNA tests will one day confirm that Bart De Vraantijk aka Bart Fasseur aka Bart The Brat aka Cherry Boy aka Johnny Pneumonia aka Mean B aka Monsieur 43 turns out to be a bastard child of one of the original Ramones. I am sure Bart’s a nice guy, but his music with Bart And The Brats is pretty nasty. It’s no surprise his latest LP (Assorted Cuts) is released by No Front Teeth and Big Neck Records, and it would have made sense if Pierced Eardrum Records would also chime in. In short, Assorted Cuts has ten old school KBD punk blasts that are ass kicking loud. Pretty? Not at all. But sufficiently infectious and fun to offset any personal harm the record may cause.
Nevermind, let’s skip the DNA tests and buy the LP instead. Recommended listening to get into this one : the killer cover of The Queers’ Kicked Out Of The Webelos, the pogotastic Masochistic Pigs and the rollicking Right To Be.
