New album: The Gotobeds || Masterclass

Still revolting, still great

Remember Poor People Are Revolting, the debut LP by Pittsburgh’s The Gotobeds? That was one of those rare records where a band shows up fully formed. Fast forward a decade—and a lineup change or two—and they’ve just released what might be their best since that explosive debut.

Their new album, Masterclass, out now on 12XU, lives up to its bold title. There’s zero hesitation in these songs: this is confident, dynamic, noisy indie rock with a post-punk pulse. Dissonance and melody duke it out track by track, and somehow, everybody wins. The Gotobeds still sound hungry—and as dialed in as ever.
