Bee Bee Sea have never been short on hooks, attitude, or ideas, but Stanzini Can Be Allright<\/em> might be their most ambitious move yet \u2014 a scrappy, heartfelt garage-rock love letter to the place that shaped them. If their recent \u201cpunk opera\u201d 7\u2033<\/a> hinted at a band stretching their formula, the full-length confirms it: Bee Bee Sea are further widening their playground without losing a shred of their unruly charm. The three It\u2019s All About the Music<\/em> cuts from the 7″ land here as well, but they\u2019re now surrounded by songs that flesh out the band\u2019s world with more swagger, more swing, and more stories.<\/p>\n

Inspired in spirit by the Gizmos\u2019 Midwest Can Be Alright<\/em><\/a>, the trio channel their own version of small-town mythology.\u00a0Musically, this is still Bee Bee Sea \u2014 buzzing riffs, caffeinated rhythms, and a melodic instinct most bands would kill for \u2014 but the edges have expanded. There\u2019s egg-punk twitch, GBV-style scrappiness, post punk urgency, and plenty of wiry, jangly sparkle.<\/p>\n

Stanzini Can Be Allright<\/em> is Bee Bee Sea proving once again that great garage rock can come from anywhere, and that the middle of nowhere \u201ccan be allright\u201d when you\u2019re loud enough to shake it awake.
