They\u2019re now split between Rome and Amsterdam, but that didn\u2019t stop them from recording a new EP, <em data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"412\">Ruyi<\/em>. Somehow, the release has more labels (five) than songs (four)\u2014a co-release by three Italian outfits (Flamingo, Loop Studio, and Dinomite Records) and two Dutch ones (Shield Recordings and White Russian Records).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"767\">Minus Hero clearly have either great networking skills or strong songwriting chops\u2014but after hearing the new tracks, it\u2019s probably both.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"971\">What to expect? I previously compared the band to <em data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"831\">Superchunk<\/em>, <em data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"850\">Archers of Loaf<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"866\">Knapsack<\/em>, and they cite <em data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"893\">H\u00fcsker D\u00fc<\/em>, <em data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"909\">Dinosaur Jr.<\/em>, <em data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"919\">Samiam<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"937\">Jawbreaker<\/em> as influences.
