All of these qualities shine in the beautiful vocals of Yea-Ming Chen, backed by the collective experience of the band\u2019s members (R.E. Opener Medicine Speed<\/em> immediately shows Ryli\u2019s knack for subtle, tasteful arrangements\u2014sounding familiar while avoiding obvious moves. Punchy tracks like Bad July<\/em> and Friend Collector<\/em> hit that sweet spot between ass-shakin\u2019, hip-swayin\u2019, and head-boppin\u2019. The title track nails that melancholic Alvvays-esque vibe, while Break<\/em> comes with a guitar lick you could ride like a wave all day. And slow-burners like Downtown<\/em> and Silent Color<\/em> may stream gently, but they claw their way under your skin.<\/p>\n These are songs built with care and chemistry\u2014a beautifully crafted indie pop record made by people who truly get it.
