“I wanted to cut loose and show everyone I can get wild. This might just be my favorite album yet\u2014it’s still me, but with a rawer, spicier edge.” Anyone who has seen Dutch y\u00e9-y\u00e9 singer Fleur<\/a> aka Floor Henkelman live recently (or who has read our posts about advance singles Tu Es Un \u00catre Parfait<\/em><\/a> and Nous Continuerons \u00e0 Marcher Ensemble<\/em><\/a>) already knew that her third full-length Fille Sauvage<\/em><\/a> would be grittier and louder, and we don’t mind at all that it really is. This is in no small part due to her backing band The Kryng<\/a>\u2014Mark ten Hoor (guitar), who also wrote the songs, Peter Kroes (bass, guitar, piano, vibraphone) and Arjan Spies (drums, guitar, piano)\u2014who lay down a solid garage rock foundation of dirt and fuzz for the vibrant vocals that bring the French lyrics to the fore with audible pleasure. It’s 60s-inspired rhythms and infectious choruses that unite in a thrilling mix.<\/p>\n
