Six years is a long wait between albums, but for Brower, it\u2019s been anything but quiet. Since their 2018 debut Buzzsaws<\/em> turned heads, they\u2019ve kept the spark alive with live shows (we caught their magic at Left Of The Dial fest in 2022<\/a>), a live album, and must-have singles\u2014including an essential double AA single<\/a> on Wick Records in 2022. Frontman Nat Brower has been taking his time with Flour<\/em>, recording solo in makeshift home studios and practice spaces, all while jokingly expanding the \u201cBrower Cinematic Universe\u201d with side projects like Josephine Network, Nancy, Metalleg, and The Wand-ers.<\/p>\n

With Flour<\/em>, Brower delivers a blast straight from a hazy \u201870s New York dive bar, blending genres and making each track feel like a rediscovered gem. You\u2019ll find dreamy \u201860s psych-pop (Now It\u2019s Time (To Get Serious), (Ooh Baby) I\u2019m Tired<\/em>), soulful rock\u2019n\u2019roll (Confrontation<\/em>), and stomping glam anthems (Hard Road, Under the Table, Speed Bike<\/em>). Tracks like More Than a Year, On the Corner<\/em>, and She Gets Me<\/em> channel pure power pop magic, proving Flour<\/em> is Brower\u2019s most ambitious, accomplished work yet\u2014without losing a bit of the raw charm that made Buzzsaws<\/em> such a hit.<\/p>\n

With bands like The Lemon Twigs also bringing \u201870s rock\u2019n\u2019roll back to life, Flour<\/em> feels authentic and thrilling\u2014a record that makes you feel lucky to be around to hear it.<\/p>\n
