Have The Veras<\/a> cracked the code? We were already impressed by their debut album V For Veras<\/em><\/a>, and on their sophomore LP Get It While You Can<\/em><\/a> the British four-piece seem to maintain that level effortlessly. Matt Bond (vocals, guitar), Neil Runalis (bass), Jon Gray (organ, vocals) and Dan Taylor (drums) have stored the highs of the past seventy years of music history somewhere in the back of their minds – according to themselves especially glam rock, punk, new wave, 90s indie and Britpop – and are so creative and skilled that they know how to write and perform completely new hits that happen to contain the most attractive elements in the right proportion. Here they deliver eleven original songs about current themes such as greed, consumerism, human rights, throw-away culture and climate change, to conclude with an extended version of their cover of – a telling title – The Action’s Something To Say<\/em>. The tunes are so clever and catchy though, with big hooks and\u00a0 irresistible harmony vocals, that you will still find yourself singing along with a smile on your face.<\/p>\n
