French label Fish & Cheap Records is quietly becoming one of the safest blind buys in garage budget punk. The roster already includes Add To Wantlist favorites like The Etters, PLEASANTS, and Xray Xeroxx, and now comes a split 7″ between Jacket Burner, the masked one-person wrecking crew of V. Tiers, and London’s resident delinquents Chinese Junk, featuring members of The Ulcers, Griswalds, and The Unreleasables.

Each band contributes two songs, including a cover of one of the other’s tracks. Song titles like Eat Shit and Die and I Hate RnR tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the mood. The budget was clearly spent on the songs rather than the recording, which suits both the label and my taste just fine.

Whether you’re blasting this through a high-end hi-fi or a pair of battered laptop speakers, these four songs are made to be played loud.
