Just like the past few days, today we have another release from France worth sharing. Here is Friday My Lady. Two years ago, the young quartet from Pays de la Loire made their debut with four Garage Recordings, of which Like A Friday and Why Are You Running Away return on this new, six-track EP. In addition to the originals, there is an urgent cover of The Kids’ I Wanna Get a Job in the City (1978).

Naturally, the band transforms the restless spirit of garage punk into a sharp collection that is both raucous and assured, thriving on imperfection and momentum. Youthful energy and scrappy determination fuel every second. You’ll hear raw vocals, distorted guitars, and relentless rhythms, but beneath the grit there are also infectious hooks. Cool guys, cool sound.

The eponymous Friday My Lady EP— recorded and mixed by Franck Thareau—is out digitally and on vinyl through Beast Records, La Nef Des Fous, and IDO Spectacles. Featuring Vérone Attard (vocals, guitar), Mathis Chevrier (guitar), Balthazar Helbert-Caratagena (bass), and Lény Giraud (drums).
