There’s something refreshing about the lived-in ease of Fuzz Collective (previously simply called Fuzz) on their sophomore album, You Know The Reason. Recorded in just a day and a half, the twelve new tracks favor groove over polish, feel over perfection, and experience over nostalgia. They blend psychedelic soul and funky rock (and a touch of smooth acid jazz) with rich chords, tight rhythms, and cool vocals, captured in a warm sound. This is a raw, back-to-basics session with sharp musicianship that never loses its spark. As if we listeners are standing front row.
