New album: Owen Adamcik || Owen’s Underground Rock n Roll

Basement power pop songs about not fitting in

Good news: Owen Adamcik carries his prolific streak straight into 2026. I picture the dude hauling his guitar and Tascam everywhere, always writing, always recording. His latest batch is titled Owen’s Underground Rock ’n’ Roll, which tells you pretty much everything you need to know: a scrappy, proto-punk take on Nerves and Paul Collins’ Beat, plugged in and left alone.

It’s a quick, bratty blast of lo-fi power pop about identity crises, burned bridges, outsider pride, and learning to be yourself while loudly telling everyone else to get out of your face. Hooks and melodies shine through the hiss and distortion, proving once again that the good kind of rock ’n’ roll doesn’t need much more than a good idea and the nerve to hit record.
