At the same time as a new album from their male counterparts from Thee Headcoats (The Sherlock Holmes Rhythm ‘n’ Beat Vernacular), the Sisters of Suave known as Thee Headcoatees also release another full-lengther. Over twenty-five years after their last LP, Here Comes Cessation, Ludella Black, Kyra LaRubia, Bongo Debbie, and Holly Golightly are back with Man-Trap, 14 cuts that feel every bit as wild and hook-packed as their ’90s prime. Lead vocals are taken alternately by one of the four (each characteristic and amazing), with the others as backup singers, while Thee Headcoats function as the rhythm section.

They kick off the ball with their take on The KKK Took My Baby Away (Ramones), and they also cover Paint It, Black (The Rolling Stones), Walking On My Grave (Dead Moon), He’s Gonna Kill That Girl (Ramones), and The Money Will Roll Right In (Fang). The remaining songs were written by Billy Childish, with Jim Bowie—a variation on their biggest hit, Davey Crockett (Gabba Hey)—being the most notable. A long-awaited return that sounds as cool as can be.
