Last time we checked in with Sweatpants Party — the pop punk dream team of Kevin Aper, Andy (7 Years Bad Luck), Jay Dee (Jagger Holly), Frizzante (Stockkampf), and whoever happens to crash on their couch — they were cranking out ultra-short bursts of melodic joy. This time, they’ve gone full concept again, penning a five-song love letter to Italy.
Fanno Bella Figura is pure, unfiltered pop punk fun, soaked in ’90s nostalgia and Aper-style energy. The band reminisces about summer crushes, playing Street Fighter II, discovering Dookie and The Blue Album, and kicking a ball around with Italian kids on the beach. The lyrical highlight? Easily the sing-along-ready Roberto Baggio (“Remember when you missed that goal // In the summer of ’94”).
It’s all here — the hooks, the harmonies, the teenage memories, the heart. Fanno Bella Figura feels like the soundtrack to the world’s best summer holiday, complete with sand, soda, and side-eyeing your past self.
Out now on LP via Monster Zero.
