Calling your band The Stones is a bold move — one that could get you a cease-and-desist letter or a standing ovation, depending on who hears it first. Let’s hope Mick and Keith take it as flattery, because this is exactly the kind of group we dream of finding while digging through Bandcamp’s basement.
Their debut single was recorded live to tape, one room, one take, maximum swagger, zero apologies. Roughly a third of Rock ’n’ Roll Band goes “Ooo yea baby, ooo yea ooo yea ooo,” and about half of T-H-U is just “T-H-U night, T-T-H-U night” — the remaining 100% is pure glory. The math checks out: minimal lyrics, maximum energy, 100% kickass glammy and punky rock-’n’-roll.
So yeah, keep your classic Stones, but make room for Vanessa, Germán, Jay, and Matteo — the new Stones are coming in hot.
