New EP: Mala Vista || Snub Nose .38

Rock’n’roll swagger, New York attitude

Mala Vista’s Fun Time was one of last year’s standout releases for anyone chasing that sweet spot between classic punk, power pop, garage rock, and straight-up rock’n’roll. Its follow-up, the 12-minute Snub Nose .38 EP (7″ available now for pre-order at Spaghetty Town and Ghost Highway Recordings), doesn’t just keep that energy alive — it cranks it up.

If the Dictators wanted it Faster and Louder, Mala Vista clearly got the memo. This EP doesn’t let up for a second: tight, fierce, and anthemic, all swagger and no filler. The New Yorkers play like they’ve got something to prove, but mostly sound like they’re having a blast doing it. Being a throwback act suits them — they make it feel like rock’n’roll still has everything to live for.
