The troublemakers of Californian rock ‘n’ roll quartet Nico Bones are back at the forefront with some Sweet Heart Break—a six-track blast built from the same raw ingredients that powered 2023’s Lipstick Alley LP: street-punk attitude, glam-rock swagger, and a bluesy boogie bite.
These new songs channel the electric energy of the New York Dolls, the Flamin’ Groovies, and Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs—the kind of sound that compels your body to do things it probably hasn’t done in years (at least not all at the same time): stomp your feet, pump your fists, shake your hips, and shout along, grinning the whole time.
It’s loud, it’s infectious, and it’s everything this kind of music should be. What’s not to love?
Sweet Heart Break—produced by Don Bolles and Nico Bones—is out now digitally and on 12″ vinyl through Ghost Highway Records, Savage Magic Records, and Wanda Records.
