Portland, Oregon-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Hutch Harris wears his heart on his sleeve. While I was genuinely concerned about his state of mind after listening to previous post-Thermals releases—album titles like Suck Up All the Oxygen and Not Everyone is Loved speak volumes—but his latest EP Together Til Whatever is reassuring in every respect.
The four new songs read like a love letter, sketching an unshakable bond—one built on endurance, rescue, gratitude, and unfiltered devotion—and celebrating the kind of endearment that weathers storms, fills old voids, and still finds room for playful tenderness: “If you could write the perfect words to prove your love today // I feel like I know exactly what you would say” (from the title track).
It’s sweet and charming, romantic and rewarding, confident and even classy, and that is all reflected in the vibrant vocals and shimmering melodies. Love has become both anchor and horizon, and that sounds great.
Together Til Whatever is out now digitally (self-released).
