Here’s a record from earlier this year that I initially missed but is too good not to share. Keep Your Eyes On The Road, the latest album by Brooklyn-based home recorders Inland Years, is what happens when creating music becomes a welcome refuge from the chaos of daily life.

Inland Years prove that timeless pop melodies hit even harder when delivered with lo-fi charm. Listening to these songs feels like stumbling across a lost cassette demo from some of your favorite bands. Their influences—think Guided By Voices, The Byrds, Pixies, Cleaners from Venus—are clear but never overbearing, and the result slides effortlessly into playlists next to Mythical Motors and 2nd Grade/WPTR.
