New album: Puffer || Street Hassle

Streetwise punk from Canada with a rock’n’roll engine

Not one but two awesome Canadian punk releases on the same day? Nice! And there’s a solid 85% chance that if you like the one, you’ll like the other. Like Béton Armé, Puffer have a street punk and oi edge, with the same knack for hard-hitting riffs. But from the opening moments of Jimmy, it’s clear Puffer bring a bit more rock’n’roll to the mix.

If you’re into Australian powerhouses like Split System and Civic, and the idea of those bands going street punk sounds appealing, then Street Hassle will hit a lot of right notes. Or rather, smash them. This record shreds.

It was great diving into this one alongside the new Béton Armé album over the weekend. Then I found out the two bands are touring Europe together starting June 20th and it upped the sike-o-meter to the max. Street Hassle is out now through Static Shock Records and RoachLeg Records.
