New album: Cult Crime || Cult Crime

A filthy, fast, and furious full length debut from Toronto

Have you checked out the self-titled Cult Crime debut LP yet? Turns out that Brutal Planet wasn’t the only modern punk classic Ugly Pop Records dropped this week. Punk’s not dead—far from it. With the current political landscape, the soil is as fertile as ever for new bands to rise up from even the most concrete streets.

Toronto’s Cult Crime delivers their nine bursts of fury in a filthy, fast, and furious early ’80s style—raw and aggressive, yet packed with melody and razor-sharp riffing. It’s the kind of music that makes you want to grab a skateboard or start a revolution. Or both. Recorded by Jimmy Vapid and wrapped in nuclear mushroom cloud artwork by Keith Caves, this album feels like a perfect reflection of the times we’re living in.

Did I mention this thing rips? Play loud.
