New album: Pyrex || Body

A noisy, nerve-shredding blast of total punk

And now for something completely bleak… Here is Body, the sophomore LP from Pyrex, out now on Total Punk Records. And that label fits them to a T—this is total punk: raw, unfiltered, and carrying an edge so dangerous my body reacts as if I’m in immediate danger. My sports watch confirms it, my heart rate spiking highest during Nerve Ends, where the Pyrex singer (screamer) repeatedly throws out the seemingly innocent yet deeply menacing line: “I am the candy man! I am the candy man!”

Across the eight-track Body LP, Pyrex flex their knowledge of biology with a tracklist that includes Vertebrae, Protein, Nerve Ends, and Cones. It’s the loudest, noisiest biology lesson ever. But in a world growing bleaker by the minute, where frustration and anger seem to pile up endlessly, Pyrex provides the perfect soundtrack for blowing off steam. Did I mention this sounds LOUD and ANGRY? A perfectly timed dose of catharsis.
