Thirty years after their debut single and a decade since their last full-length, one of Spain’s premier hook-filled guitar pop bands makes a triumphant return. Bring Back The Light—out now on vinyl via Hurrah! Música—is an absolute treat for power pop fans, packed with variety and undeniable hooks.
The album finds Feedbacks exploring different corners of the power pop spectrum, from the mid-paced pop punk of Tell Me That It’s Over and My Tragic Summer, to the Weezer-esque geek rock of Telephone and 1995, to the Elvis costello leaning brilliance of Hate Is All Around. Mindblowing channels The Plimsouls, Wrong dips into ’60s pop, and Back to the Sun feels straight out of Teenage Fanclub’s ’90s playbook.
What’s most impressive about Bring Back The Light—beyond the sheer quality of the songwriting—is how fresh and energetic it sounds. Feedbacks may be three decades in, but this album feels as inspired and hungry as ever. Plenty to love here!
