Mayway Records, the label behind cool acts like The Haunted Youth, Meskerem Mees and Meltheads, has found another gem. Please meet Arend Delabie, a young singer-songwriter from Kortrijk, Belgium, who makes a magnificent debut with his first single, called Stain. Expect an intriguing mix of indie rock, art pop and rap influences, with a glamorous groove, distinctive vocals and hypnotic harmonies. It’s not hard to imagine an audience singing along loudly: “I keep on thinking of you // Your name’s a stain in my mind // I’m only asking the truth // It’s what you owe me.” The B-side of the 45 is a bedroom demo version of the same song.

Stain, produced by Thomas Valkiers, is out now digitally and on vinyl 7″ through Mayway Records.
